The idea behind this website started as a business decision. In 2004, I decided to invest in a then unknown startup called “Textdrive”. I was part of the initial 200 that invested in this new hosting company. The investment paid off well. The identity known as Textdrive merged with Joyent in the years ahead and now hosts some of the web’s most trafficked sites. This website has a distributed setup for a more fault tolerant operation, allowing easier migrations if necessary. The components of the setup are.

• DNS Management of the domain name is handled by GoDaddy, which allows me to change hosting machines if needed transparently.
• The domain is hosted at Joyent on their Shared Accelerators.
• Email and collaboration tools for the domain are handled by the excellent Google Apps.
• Analytics for the domain is handled by Google Analytics

This separation of essential services for the domain allows for a more reliable setup. The excellent WordPress publishing platform and some fine wp-plugins run the website.
